A Post-Election Poem 2024

After this voting loss, goodness remains.
At times we’ll find new ways to grieve and rage,
But let’s be clear right now, inwardly clear:
We share this world with those we don’t control
Yet we have agency over our minds.
So let’s take up our daily helpfulness,
Serve others, be surprised by ease and grace.
Each day we can behold how God’s still here
to steady our emotions, free our souls,
surprising us with gentle mysteries.
Always we’ll find good work for us to do.
