Why Do We Outgrow Friends? Such big question if you love your friends. And you hate to ever lose a friendship.

Why Do We Outgrow Friends in Reality? This Energy Spirituality® article can bring you a new perspective. Empowering you. And also helping you to answer that question honestly.

At This Point in Your Life…

What IS your latest thinking about friendships that don’t last?

Just in case you thought you were the only one who worried about this problem, hello!

On behalf of us all, I’m googling Why Do We Outgrow Friends. Guess how popular that question is?

For the number of hits on publication day for this blogpost: Check my COMMENT below for that number… over at the version of this article at my personal blog. One click will take you there, easy-peasy.

This Post Began After Jackson Hanks Wrote This on Facebook

Along with an eye-catching graphic, Jackson had this to say:

We don’t outgrow

people, relationships,

situations…

We outgrow

versions of ourselves

which are no longer

in alignment

with them.

What I Love about This

To me, Jackson Hanks’s sincerity is palpable. He has suffered and come out the other side. Seems like, the main message of this quote involves taking personal responsibility. Rather than blaming others.

Also I’m impressed by any workshop presenter from Texas who doesn’t seek popularity by…

By appealing to the dominant culture there, which is Evangelical Christian. (In one survey, 60% of respondents say that religion is very important in their lives.)

By contrast, Jackson’s Facebook post reveals a quality of spirituality that is quite different. His writing impresses me as “the best of Oprah.” And, frankly, better than Oprah.

However, from the Perspective of Energy Spirituality

I’d say this answer has low-to-medium truth value.

Seems to me, this answer combines pop psychology

Along with “alignment” ideas from the New Age Years,

According to which “Everything in Life Is Vibration.

Do you agree about the degree of truth value, Readers? COMMENT at this version of this article at my personal blog. Share your thoughts, and I’ll publish them, then respond.

Meanwhile guess how many hits for this idea about vibration? I’ll share what I find at my Google, on publication day for this article. See that answer in a COMMENT below.

Originally, that comes from a quote by Albert Einstein. Of course, he was speaking as a physicist, not a human being. He wasn’t talking about life as a human being, getting through the day. Or trying to hold onto a friendship.

Learning More about Jackson Hanks

Jackson Hanks is an Author, Speaker, and Workshop Facilitator.

You’ll find his Facebook wall here. While the Jackson Hanks website reveals that — guess what?

His work beautifully combines what I’d call pop psychology and spiritual teachings from the New Age Years. For instance:

In order for Jackson to become his authentic self he had to face the demons that haunted him from his childhood. It took time, effort and dogged determination to overcome what happened to him as a child.

Jackson’s burning desire for self-improvement helped him gain wisdom — which comes from experience.

He offers encouragement and empowerment to those who work with him. Jackson’s heartfelt intent is for every person that he meets becomes the best they possibly can.

To Jackson everything that happens in life as a blessing, regardless of how much it emotionally (or physically) hurts feels at the time. There is always a lesson or something good to be found in whatever comes our way.

Googling themes that are currently influential in mainstream thinking (and, I’d add, way popular in Collective Consciousness):

  1. Be Your Authentic Self — that scores 575 MILLION hits on my Google while drafting this article.
  2. Everything that Happens in Life is a Blessing- that scores 168 MILLION hits on my Google while drafting this article.
  3. There Is Always a Lessonthat scores 278 MILLION hits on my Google while drafting this article.

Do you believe this, Readers? Did you ever? How about now?

Back during the New Age Years (from 1980 until the Shift into the Age of Awakening on 12–21–12), sure! I tried hard to believe all three of these ideas. Never really succeeded though. To me, then — and even more so now — these beliefs lacked the ring of truth.

Hey, At this Point, Maybe I’d Better Introduce Energy Spirituality®

After all, this way of helping people is hardly a household word.

Energy Spirituality helps people like you with personal growth and spiritual awakening. Using energy skills that work NOW, in the Age of Awakening.

To be clear, this is:

Also good to know, Energy Spirituality is not a path. The goal is to help you to fine-tune the path you already believe in. So that your chosen path works better for you. Since all of us are now living in the Age of Awakening.

You see, some subtle things have changed since the Shift on Dec. 21, 2o12. When we update old habits by making a small number of adjustments? We can improve our social lives, our careers, our love lives… you name it.

  1. The New Strong can show you how.
  2. And if you care a lot about personal growth, another how-to that can help you a lot is: Seeking Enlightenment in the Age of Awakening.

Previewing….

In Part 2 of this three-part series of articles, I’ll share what I think has higher truth value. Only because humanity is no longer living in the Age of Faith, when Jackson and I were raised. When we found our own ways to be of service to others.

A big difference between the two of us is how — in my line of work — I had a front-row seat. You know, to the big blockbuster movie: Regarding changes that have happened since the Shift into the Age of Awakening.

For example, I had the good fortune to develop reliable skills for energetic literacy.

This kind of knowledge made it possible for me to develop ideas that work better now. Compared to classic ideas from the Age of Faith.

Back to the Second Facebook Post that Inspired this Article

My Facebook friend Joan Marie Barringer reposted Jackson Hanks’s conversation starter. She added this:

Good Morning. I have learned that what existed then may not be for the present.

New people come in with similar vibrations and energy to mine. A reflection of my own spiritual growth.

Like attracts like a law of the universe in the Bible and most spiritual traditions.

We all change when we seek spiritual growth.

What I Love about This

As usual, Joan is expressing spiritual principles. In my understanding (and correct me if I’m wrong, everyone. Everyone, including Joan herself….)

Joan is a beautifully trained, professional quality, minister. When we met, decades ago, both of us were members of a Unity Church (Unity of Fairfax).

  • Only she was strongly active.
  • Mostly I’d sit in a pew during Sunday services and weep with joy. (My typical way of attending religious services, whatever the faith.)

Joan’s writing here reminds me of New Thought Ministers: Inspiring writers whose work I used to read and revere during the New Age Years. Notably, Emmet Fox and Catherine Ponder.

Imo, this short post from Joan Marie Barringer delivers…

A Magnificent Sequence of New Thought Religious Teaching

As I understand what she wrote:

First, what existed then may not be for the present.

Here Joan orients readers to view time in a way that is rooted in the present. Also, reflecting direct spiritual experience. Since God is here now, and God can always accompany us.

Second, we attract our friends. Due to our current vibrations.

Very consistent with what became wildly popular during the New Age Years!

Third, like attracts like. Maybe it’s not a stretch to relate what Joan wrote here to the idea that “Everyone you meet is your mirror.” For the number of hits, scroll down to Comment #5.

With All Due Respect, from the Perspective of Energy Spirituality

During the New Age Years, I’d say this answer had High Truth value.

But currently? Since Shift into the Age of Awakening?

Nowadays this has just Low-to-Medium Truth Value.

Of course, I don’t know all the reasons for this change. However, I’ve spent years seeking to understand the Shift into the Age of Awakening. I’m not too proud to admit how much grief and pain I’ve felt at times, letting go of so much.

In order to help you to make your peace with what has changed, one resource is to read Seeking Enlightenment in the Age of Awakening. There you’ll learn in detail about global changes that prepared humanity for the Shift. Causing beautiful spiritual seekers to over-emphasize energy. Causing certain ideas became wildly popular — as they still are to this day, and not only on Google.

Only these ideas became obsolete once the New Age Years ended. Granted, many people still don’t know or care about the Age of Awakening. For the rest of their lives, their highest truth will be New Thought ideas. I know and respect many such people. They can’t meet me as a graduate of the Age of Faith, somebody who has become an Enlightenment Teacher, etc. But we can still be friends.

Understandably so: Yet here at my personal blog I can speak out directly about what I know to be both current-and-true.

For example: Beliefs are relative, and each of us is entitled to belive what we wish. However, beliefs also have consequences. For any of you who have managed to develop quality skills of Enlightenment Validation, you’ll likely discover this:

Not too many believers in New Thought religion, or followers of Pop Psychology, or believers in their Old Time Religion… are living in Spiritual Enlightenment. Yet many of the folks who regularly read the Energy Spirituality Blog… ARE.

Although, Clearly

Here’s one more counter-culture idea. Innovations from Energy Spirituality may have High Truth Value. However, they’re not exactly blockbuster popular, are they?

To see what I mean, read the number of Google hits for “Innovations from Energy Spirituality” at Comment #6, below.)

By contrast, let’s google the current popularity of three ideas from my summary of Joan’s beautiful Facebook post.

To this day, even in the Age of Awakening, so many people believe that life works this way. Today’s popular — though deeply unhelpful — Energy Talk celebrates this worldview, of course.

By all means, COMMENT below with your reaction to these well established ideas. Well established, yes. But does that mean currently true?

Learning More about Rev. Joan Marie Barringer

Sure, Joan has a website.

Yet this doesn’t do justice to how she teaches and facilitates healing. From reading her Facebook posts, I’ve gained immense respect for what she does and how she does it.

Joan ministers to people. She prays with them. She teaches what she believes, which is also how she lives. Summing up my view of her magnificent work, I’ll use this term: HIGHEST PRAISE. (This is a phrase I write very rarely, in certain reviews, on Goodreads: HIGHEST PRAISE.

In Part 2 of our three-part series of articles, I’ll share what I think has higher truth value that what we’ve seen here today: What we’ve seen regarding this “Outgrow Friends” idea. And explaining everyday life in terms of that “vibes” idea.

Why Do We Outgrow Friends? Honestly???

All that talk about vibrations won’t help us one bit. This way of understanding life is outdated. Just like using a landline instead of today’s amazingly useful mobile phones.

Humanity is no longer living in the Age of Faith. Even though Joan Marie and Jackson and I — and maybe some of you, Readers — were raised then. Whether we grew up during the New Age Years or before them, guess what? We still were forming deep beliefs about life during the Age of Faith. Which means what?

Spiritual people found their own best ways to be of service to others. Witness the heartfelt wisdom I’ve quoted from these two colleagues of mine, fellow spiritual teachers Jackson and Joan Marie.

Only those best ways were based on Age of Faith beliefs. Call it loyal — or stuck — some good people will never change for the rest of their lives.

Nobody has to change. However, many of us already have. Others can start changing now. And will. We will insist on adapting to what works now, in the Age of Awakening.(One example of which is vividly depicted in the link just provided.)

  • Is the important question really “Why Do We Outgrow Friends?”
  • Or is the better question, “Why Do Some Friendships End?”
