BROKEN MIRROR Boundary Work. How wise is it to seek a true image of yourself in a mirror that’s broken?

Today our topic is BROKEN MIRROR Boundary Work. Every hear of that before? Hey, I just made that term up. As a consciousness engineer, I get to do this sometimes. Doing this in order to bring discernment, not judgment.

Buy why not make the topic of this article simply Boundary Work? Why coin a new term, including “Broken Mirror,” when that old term is already so popular?

Because this consciousness engineer aims to help you dispel illusions around the value of Boundary Work.

Maybe you’ll come to agree with me that a more appropriate name for this kind of self-help really is… BROKEN MIRROR Boundary Work.

First of All, What Is Boundary Work?

Paraphrasing from our most recent Energy Spirituality™ Newsletter:

  • Of course, Boundaries are real. That is, boundaries are both geographical and political. For instance, the country where you live now? Or figuring out where Russia ends and Ukraine begins? Clearly, maps matter.
  • By contrast, regarding Personal Boundaries, or the act of setting boundaries? More like a kind self-help work. Popularized by authors and support groups since the mid-1980s. (That is, during the New Age Years. Learn more from “Seeking Enlightenment in the Age of Awakening.”)
  • To be clear, Boundary Work involves doing mental work. Ideally one follows up by developing social skills. In order to, supposedly, set one’s personal boundaries.

Commonly, advocates of Boundary Work call it A Life Skill. Only that’s not correct. Strictly speaking, life skills are things a person says and does. As a means to solve problems in objective reality. For example, learning how to tie your shoelaces.

Previously I’ve published a blogpost to explore “Boundaries for Empaths and Others.” Definitely recommended reading for today. Since today we’re going to take a technical look at 54 pieces of advice. All of them quite typical advice for doing boundary work.

In advance of this research, let me tell you loud and clear. Exactly where I am coming from, with this blogpost?

Boundary Work is a waste of time. Even worse, Boundary Work distorts how your consciousness supports you. Causing you to take a side trip, rather than authentic personal growth.

For that reason, in this article I’ll refer to this kind of self-help exercise as BROKEN MIRROR Boundary Work.

Second, How Will We Explore the Consequences of This Kind of Work?

Among my various skills as the founder of Energy Spirituality, hooray! Today I’ll share with you my analysis of typical boundary techniques. Discussing this with you — in the main post and also the COMMENTS below — given my skills as a consciousness engineer.

Basically, you can think what follows in this way: Analyzing the nuts and bolts of what boundary work does to a person’s consciousness.

Drawing on techniques from an influential article, let’s consider specific techniques for boundary work. Thanks for these samples, Anastasia Eden, the professional cook and self-styled expert at boundary work. (Learn more about her from Comments #x at this previous blogpost here.)

In order to make this exploration fairly easy to follow? Note this:

  1. After I list the chunks from this technique taught by Anastasia…
  2. Listing the worst examples of broken mirror-ness in green…
  3. Then I’ll comment as a consciousness engineer about those particular examples.

Okay, let’s get started.

Example ONE from Anastasia, a Broken Mirror Boundary Work Expert

Incidentally, if you click on this photo… As well as the other two that follow… You’ll find it easier to see the broken mirror in that picture.

Become Aware of How You Are Currently Being

Exactly how does Anastasia describe and explain this? In essence, she’s breaking the mirror of consciousness into 16 pieces.

  1. The first step toward lasting change
  2. (Maybe) is to notice and observe your boundaries (or lack of)
  3. in everyday situations.
  4. (Maybe) Awareness of how you are being is crucial.
  5. (Perhaps) When we become more conscious of where we are losing ourselves
  6. (Maybe) and where we lack boundaries,
  7. (Perhaps) we can then see what is working for us in life
  8. (Maybe) and what isn’t.
  9. (Perhaps) “Self-awareness” will show you
  10. (Maybe) when the boundaries in your everyday encounters… change
  11. and you’ll soon be able to catch the moment
  12. where you start abandoning them.
  13. (Maybe) You will also learn to notice what is challenging and stressful for you
  14. and where you need to make the necessary changes.
  15. (Maybe) we will be bringing subconscious inner behaviour patterns
  16. to the forefront of our attention.

Perspective from Consciousness Engineer Rose Rosetree

For the sake of brevity, here are just some of the messy consequences that will likely result. Assuming that readers can manage to do anything, really. Other that give themselves headaches.

Responding to #1.

In effect, Anastasia is promising — right from the outset, that her interesting technique will work. Moreover, she’s promising that it will bring lasting change.

That’s a mighty big promise, although also vague. That’s also a mighty big promise considering that she has omitted what would give her credibility to make any promise whatsoever about results.

Responding to #2 and 3:

What can Anastasia possibly mean, asking folks like you to “notice” your “boundaries.” These boundaries aren’t physical but a metaphor.

Does she mean “Think about your current concept of boundaries?”

Likewise, readers are instructed to “observe” their boundaries. Meaning what, see them?

That might mean something like: “First, think about your current concept of boundaries. Further, dress them up with visual imagery.”

Pretty twisty, tricky Technique Time already! Were this a software program it would be off to a buggy start.

Responding to #5 and 6

How can a person possibly become “more conscious of where we are losing ourselves and where we lack boundaries”?

By detaching from yourself, then evaluating yourself.

Like the very definition of busywork, Blog-Buddies. This will help nothing, improve nothing.

Responding to #11 and 12

What do you stand to gain, if you become very experienced at doing this busywork that can shred your consciousness?

Some reward! (NOT)

Soon, allegedly, you’ll be able to catch the moment where you start abandoning your so-called boundaries.

To put this in the language of consciousness lifestyles… Something that you can learn about at blogposts like the one at the link just supplied.

Soon you’d likely be pretty far gone into an unhelpful consciousness lifestyle, such as Psychological Overwork.

This. Would. Not. Be. a Good. Thing.

Responding to #15 and 16

Astounding ignorance here, imo. Not that well-meaning Anastasia is unique in her confusion about this.

By definition, your conscious mind notices a ton of things.

You also have a subconscious mind, which has different jobs to do.

It is not the job of your conscious mind to notice what is going on subconsciously.

Exceptions would be:

COMMENT below if you seriously believe that a goal of human life is to become conscious of whatever random things are happening to you subconsciously.

People can’t really succeed, but what if (as Anastasia recommends) they keep trying anyway. Ouchers, they sure can mess themselves up pretty good.

Contemplating Your Boundaries

BROKEN MIRROR Boundary Work, View 2

  1. (Maybe) Close your eyes
  2. and take a moment to contemplate that
  3. (Maybe) your boundaries are completely your responsibility
  4. and no one else’s.
  5. (Maybe) Feel your body
  6. and acknowledge that it is YOUR body
  7. (Maybe) and your responsibility….
  8. (Perhaps) feel any power you’ve given away in the past,
  9. (Maybe) through lack of boundaries,
  10. coming back to you….
  11. (Perhaps) Feel that energy filling your heart or your body.
  12. (Maybe) if it helps, you might like to visualise it
  13. returning as light.

Thus begins Technique Time. If you’re smart, you’ll start timing now.

Please know that the ideal amount of Technique Time for every single day you’re alive is: 20 Daily Minutes of Technique Time, Tops.

Responding to #5–7

So much fancy dancing, in consciousness, around physical self-awareness!

Feel Your Own Physical Sensations

Is it possible to notice physical sensations in your body? Yes, once you’ve learned how. And provided that you’re living in Human-Based Spirituality, or another self-actualizing consciousness lifestyle. (Otherwise the person will take a little tour of “the body.” Consciousness positioned at an Astral Vibrational Frequency.)

For details about what it’s like having consciousness positioned there… Read the pretty-darned fascinating “Snapshots of Consciousness.” A new kind of aura research that was first published where? In “Seeking Enlightenment in the Age of Awakening.”

Acknowledge or Affirm or Persuade Yourself that the Physical Sensations You Feel… Belong to Your Body

Is doing that necessary? Not if you’re functioning well in your consciousness lifestyle.

Add to Whatever You’re Now Experiencing about Yourself, an Overlay of Responsiblity and Guilt

Twisty-twisty! So unnecessary! Adding to inner confusion.

Not to mention generation of awful subconscious-and-energetic Thought Forms. All based in confusion. Or worse.

And all of this unnecessary astral STUFF being a side effect… Of this unfortunate side trip taught by Anastasia.

Responding to #8–10

Ostensibly a way to facilitate energy healing, this “technique” is one of the most poorly designed healing techniques I’ve ever encountered.

Suffice it to say here, this doesn’t work. Unless belief in magical thinking is going to buy you a shiny green lollipop. Or similar.

Responding to #11

Imagining energy flows in your body will not bring legitimate energy healing either. Producing only a feelgood moment. At best.

Responding to #12

Sure, Anastasia, why not pile on one additional technique.

This recipe for self healing is like combining:

  1. A few cans of stew, past their expiration date
  2. Adding some cat food, for variety.
  3. Some good old ketchup, to taste
  4. Then adding just enough alcohol so that you can serve the dish en flambe.
Example THREE from Anastasia, a Broken Mirror Boundary Work Expert

Learning When to Say No, Or Else Speak up

BROKEN MIRROR Boundary Work, View 3

  1. Close your eyes
  2. and contemplate a situation
  3. (Perhaps) where you are being overpowered.
  4. (Maybe) or where you feel you need to
  5. (Perhaps) summon the courage to say ‘no’.
  6. How do you feel to phrase it?
  7. What might you say to
  8. (Maybe) express the truth of how you feel?
  9. [Note from Rose: Although she asked you to close your eyes in Step 1. Never does she ask you to open your eyes.]
  10. Write down a few ideas
  11. (Maybe) of ways of expressing yourself that
  12. come naturally to you.
  13. I know communicating with people in this way
  14. is often a lot easier said than done.
  15. (Perhaps) It takes practice….
  16. (Maybe) it’s about giving other people
  17. the opportunity to know the ‘real’ you.
  18. Note from Anastasia: if someone is really power hungry,
  19. (Maybe) bear in mind they won’t like it
  20. if you step into your power,
  21. because they rely on power from other people
  22. (Maybe) (especially empaths)
  23. to ‘feed’ their hungry ego. Once you begin to change,
  24. (Perhaps) this sort of person will either change to meet you
  25. (Maybe…) or they will naturally fall away

Perspective from Consciousness Engineer Rose Rosetree

Hey, this blogpost is already much longer than ours usually are. How about this, Blog-Buddies. Hop on over to the version of this article at my personal blog.

Once you arrive, share your thoughts about what might — or might not — work with this 25-step little technique. And if you ask me nicely, I can do my thing on this as a consciousness engineer.

For now, though, I think I’ve earned a break.

In Conclusion

Absolutely-tootly feel free to share:

  • Your thoughts.
  • Your questions.
  • Plus, any gasps of incredulity that you might have available.

By now do you see? Anastasia’s Broken Mirror Boundary Work…

is about as safe for your consciousness…

as handling broken shards of glass would be for your hands.

Consciousness Engineer Rose Rosetree says, “Thanks for reading. Just because “everybody says” that Boundary Work is good for you? This article may have given you perspective with a higher truth value.
